The end of May turned out to be a fun month. We had wanted to go to the zoo for a long time to take Kate, because she loves animals. It was a fun day and it makes me wish we lived in Salt Lake so we could go more often. After the zoo we dropped the kids off at my parents and went and celebrated Russ' dads 70th birthday at The Roof. It was so much fun to be around all of his family, laughing and talking, to celebrate such a wonderful man. I didn't get any pictures from the dinner, so I have none to post. But here are some from the zoo...
This is the train ride..we told Ryker to put his hands up to practice for Disneyland!

Kate was soo tired and had just fallen asleep as we climbed on the train, but woke up quickly so she wouldn't miss the ride.
Kate loved the giraffes.
Kate loves monkeys..and this one was sitting against the glass and Kate loved it. She kept talking to it and patting the glass.
This was just a ridiculously long limo we passed on the freeway...so cool. Looked bigger in real life!
We went with my parents to the Clark Planetarium one day. They had some fun interactive things that the kids loved playing with, especially Ryker, he didn't want to leave. The movie they have on the dome screen (forget what thats called) freaked Ryker out a bit and Russ had to take him out. It is one of those movies that you feel like you are in it and that planets are coming at you, etc etc. Kate did ok, but she did get scared a couple times when it got loud and meteors crashed together..but mostly she loved looking at the moons and saying "moon", "moon", "moon", over and over and over.
I don't know what it was, but standing next to this suit was just so..crazy. To think that these suits are trusted to keep them safe! To keep oxygen from escaping..heat, cold, etc..I donno. I was just studying every detail of it, so cool, so I had to get a picture.
Quick trip to Mars with grandpa. (I think it was Mars, maybe the moon..)
I got Kate this cute cute hat, and she doesn't like to wear it. :(
So, everyone says Ryker is a little Russell. I can't see Russ at all in Ryker (or see myself in Ryker)..but he was taking a nap and for some reason I went in his room and he was kinda squishing his face with the blanket a little, and I could see Russ (when he was little) in him! I was so excited so I had to take a picture. I stood their looking at him for awhile, it was such a trip! And this picture doesn't even do it justice cause the angle wasn't just right, but I am glad I got a "glimpse" of Russ in Ryker.
About a month ago Russ broke out the tent and Ryker and dad got to have a campout in the backyard. Ryker loved every minute of it! He was in that tent 3 hours before bed, and all day the next day until we took it down. And as you can see by Russ' smile, he loved it too!
